Foreword:<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n

There are countless slogans and studies on the subject of sustainability. My personal approach is that we should not arrogantly believe that we have to save Mother Earth – she will certainly outlive us. First and foremost, we have a duty to save ourselves and our children. We owe it to them – but we should all become a little more humble in future…!<\/p>\n

Modellbau Huber GmbH\u2026?:<\/strong> <\/span><\/h5>\n

Since its foundation in 1990, Modellbau Huber GmbH has developed into a reliable partner for its customers. With its current 16 employees and an annual turnover of \u20ac 2 million in 2025, the company offers a complete range of services from a single source – engineering, tool and fixture construction in the field of injection molding and foaming, as well as special solutions and measuring services.<\/p>\n

    The stakeholders of Modellbau Huber GmbH also act in accordance with the company values. Internally, the owner makes most of the decisions together with the employees; externally, suppliers and customers are involved in the day-to-day business and solutions are therefore often developed together.<\/p>\n

    As a result, Modellbau Huber GmbH is able to implement the services described above in the best quality in order to meet the constantly increasing demands of the market.<\/p>\n

    Sustainability aspect \u2013 environmental issues<\/strong> <\/span><\/h6>\n
    What is currently the largest source of emissions\u2026?<\/span><\/h6>\n

    A PV system with 98 kVA was installed and put into operation at the turn of the year 2019 \/ 20. The company’s own use of electricity from the system is currently stated at 90%, with the energy generated covering approx. 30% of Modellbau Huber GmbH’s total electricity requirements.<\/p>\n

    Heat recovery via compressors <\/span><\/h6>\n

    Several heat exchangers are used for hot water preparation and the heating system – in addition, the compressor room is completely heated with the \u201cwarm\u201d exhaust air from the machinery.<\/p>\n

    Ventilation system for the production hall <\/span><\/h6>\n

    Thanks to the use of \u201cwarm\u201d air, no additional oil heating has been necessary for the last four years. In addition, new control technology was installed in 2021 to control the exhaust air. This runs through filters in cross heat exchangers and heats the supply air.<\/p>\n

    Hall and machine lighting converted to LED <\/span><\/h6>\n

    The result is a noticeable increase in energy efficiency. Independently of this, the well-being and thus the quality of the workplace is also improved.<\/p>\n

    FIDIA 411 milling machine<\/span><\/h6>\n

    The milling machine was completely overhauled in 2024 – this project gave rise to the basic idea for this sustainability report. With this decision, Modellbau Huber has made a significant contribution to the following topic:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Preservation of the basic structure and the complete cast body<\/li>\n
    • Replacement of the hydraulics, electrics, pneumatics and supply lines<\/li>\n
    • Replacement of the guideways and drive motors<\/li>\n
    • Replacement of the milling spindle, fork head and all bearings<\/li>\n
    • Significant increase in energy efficiency thanks to the latest software and control technology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      Circular economy <\/span><\/h6>\n

      The individual types of milling waste (mainly steel and aluminium, but also plastics) are separated by type and returned into the market.<\/p>\n

      Employees <\/span><\/h6>\n

      Modellbau Huber GmbH has a flat hierarchical structure. Important decisions and the associated investments are usually discussed with the employees, whereby individual suggestions are also gladly accepted and evaluated.
      Training takes place within the framework of the CAD and CAE systems. Employees are also regularly involved in the latest developments in the area of fixture construction, which are presented by the suppliers.
      The possibility of working from home exists for the design and administration departments if this can be used sensibly.<\/p>\n

      Sustainability aspect \u2013 outlook <\/strong> <\/span><\/h6>\n
      Increasing the proportion of green electricity <\/span><\/h6>\n

      In 2025\/2026, a new wind farm is to be built around the catchment area of Modellbau Huber GmbH. The company is already registered as a customer there, so that a further large proportion of the remaining energy can be covered by climate-neutral electricity.<\/p>\n
